Barbara Butler, 74, Former Fairfield Resident

Barbara Ann Fodor Butler, age 74, of Rumford, ME, formerly of Fairfield, CT, devoted wife of the late Freeman Butler, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2013 in Connecticut Hospice. 

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryl Carestia, of NH, Lisa Butler, of MA, and James Butler, of MA; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Boone, Jason Carestia, Leonard Archuletta, Ashley Goodick, Micheal Butler, Christopher Butler, Brittany Cremmen, Nicole Cremmen and Jake Cremmen; her great grandchildren, Marcus, Skylar, Erin, Emma, Benjamin, Cody, Bennett, Addison, Summer And Jack; her siblings, Marian Nerientz and William Fodor; nieces and nephews, Roberta Lotzko, Patricia Gavin, Robert Lotzko and Gary Lotzko.  

She was predeceased by one son, Freeman Butler.

Born in Bridgeport and raised in Fairfield, Barbara was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Fodor. She married the love of her life, Freeman, in 1959, and dedicated herself to being wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

After Freeman's retirement, they moved to Maine, where many happy years were spent passionately tending to their home and gardens. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield, CT, with a prayer service to take place at 7 p.m. All other services will be private. 

The family would like to acknowledge with gratitude the dedicated staff of CT Hospice for the care shown to Barbara during her stay.
