Obituary: Ann Marie Buckley, 74

Buckley - Ann Marie MacGregor Buckley, age 74, of Fairfield, Connecticut, devoted wife of the late A. Lawrence Buckley, passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by her loving family on August 19, 2012.  

Ann Marie's memory will be embraced by her family including five sons, Michael Buckley, and his wife, Maria, of Needham, MA, Christopher Buckley, and his wife, Dorothy, of Ballston, NY, Jonathan Buckley, and his wife, Kathleen, of Fairfield, Timothy Buckley, and his wife, Susan, of Bryn Mawr, PA, Jeffrey Buckley, and his wife, Andrea, of Orange; her cherished sixteen grandchildren, Donald, Michael, Haleigh, Jack, Faith, Kaitlyn, Erica, Lawrence, Katherine, Ronald, Nathaniel, Veronica, Abigail, Ian, Dane, and Elizabeth; one great grandchild, Jonathan; her sister-in-law, Ann MacGregor and niece, Shannon MacGregor, both of Bellingham, MA.; as well as many dear friends.  

In addition to her beloved husband, Larry, she was predeceased by parents, Donald and Nan Boudreau MacGregor, her brother, Robert MacGregor, and one grandson, Jonathan.  

Born and raised in Green Island, New York, Ann Marie resided in many areas of the United States throughout her husband's career with General Electric. While Fairfield was her home, she enjoyed skiing at her family's vacation home in Beaver Creek, Colorado, and traveled the world.   

Staying in touch with her family and friends was very important to Ann Marie. She was a gracious host, and often entertained those she loved for holiday gatherings and special occasions. She maintained many longtime friendships with fellow members of , Black Rock Yacht Club, and the Vail 50 Club. She was a strong supporter of Native American Youth Development Programs in the Southwest, as well as several local charities.  

Ann Marie loved her family and was proud of each one. She felt truly blessed for the many wonderful experiences she shared with them and her friends.  

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM directly in , 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to: Swim Across the Sound, in care of, St. Vincent's Foundation, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
