Obituary: Barbara Jean Wargo, 62, Lifelong Fairfield Resident

Barbara Jean Wargo, age 62, of Fairfield, beloved wife of William E. Wargo, Sr., passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Henry and Frances Rafa she had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. She attended Roger Ludlowe High School.

Mrs. Wargo worked for her brother at Fairfield Chimney and Furnace for many years and also for Commercial Safety. She was a member of the Southport Fire Auxiliary, and was a devoted fan of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers where she was a Lifetime Booster Club member.

Barbara delighted in her role as a grandmother where her granddaughters referred to her as “gramma cupcake.”

Survivors in addition to her loving husband include a devoted son, William E. Wargo, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of North Haven; five cherished granddaughters, Linda, Brenda, Jenna, Alexa and Victoria; a brother, Henry Rafa and his wife Sharon of Virginia; a sister, Diane Allen of Vermont and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private.

Friends may call Monday from 4-6 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
