Donald A. Minton, age 91 of Wallingford, formerly of Fairfield, beloved husband of the Barbara Minton, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Masonicare of Wallingford.
Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Earle and Elsie Minton, he had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended the Junior College of Connecticut and the University of Bridgeport and was a retired purchasing Administrator for Sikorsky Aircraft.
An active member of the Masonic Order, Don was a member of Fidelity-St. John's Lodge # 3 A.F. & A.M., a life member the Lafayette Consistory A.A.S.R, the DeWitt Clinton Lodge of Perfection, Washington Council-Princess of Jerusalem and the Pequonnock Chapter Rose Croix. Mr. Minton was a former member of Company 2 Governor's Foot Guard Field Music Unit, a member of the Fairfield Elks Lodge # 2220 B.P.O.E. and a member of Port 5 Naval Veterans Association. He was a lifelong member of First Church Congregational, Fairfield.
Donald delighted in time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include two beloved daughters, Bethann Letsch and her husband Bruce of Fairfield and Marlene Fetcho of Naugatuck; three grandchildren, Kevin Letsch, Amy Tobey and Henry Fetcho; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ryan, Jillian and Cadance; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Earle W. Minton.
