Obituary: Frank Warner, 84

Warner - Frank A. Warner, age 84, of Fairfield, devoted husband of Helen Bouras Warner, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2012, in Carolton Hospital.  

In addition to Helen, his loving wife of 57 years, Frank's memory will be embraced by his children, Kathy McCollum, and her husband, Rick, of Bridgeport, Matthew Warner, and his wife, Judy, of Fairfield; two grandsons, Matthew Scott Warner and Mark Warner, who affectionately called him "papoo"; one aunt, Mary Nebzydowsky, of Pleasant Mount, PA; two sisters-in-law, Anna Christon, and her husband, Angelo, of Glen Cove, NY, Frances DeMattia, and her husband, Donald, of Fairfield; nieces and nephews, Rick and Robin Boughton, Mark, Debbie, and George DeMattia, Gheri Kaufman. He was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Boughton and Rita Vetre.

Born and raised in Blakely, PA, Frank spent his teenage summers working on a family farm. After serving for several years in the United States Marines, he moved to Bridgeport, settling in Fairfield in 1970. A retired banker for Union Trust (Wells Fargo), Frank began his career with Parke- Davis Pharmaceutical's Bay Division.  

While growing up in Pennsylvania, Frank took in many Red Sox farm team baseball games, which explained his having been a loyal Red Sox fan. He enjoyed gardening, attending family reunions back in PA, playing golf with his friends, accomplishing handiman work around the house, and walking with his dearest Helen. Frank was a dedicated blood donor for the Red Cross, giving over 20 gallons in his lifetime.

A gentle, caring person, Frank loved his family and friends, and will be missed by all whom he touched.  

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the , 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM directly at , with interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
