Obituary: Richard Cone, 61, of Fairfield

Richard "Ricky" Cone, 61, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Mary Lou Sturies Cone, passed away on September 14, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. 

In addition to Mary Lou, his devoted wife, Ricky will be lovingly remembered by his children, Frank and Marcy, and his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Samantha, and Natalie, all of Fairfield; his sisters, Barbara Antolini, and her husband, Ernie, of Fairfield, Maryann Cooney, and her husband, Mel, of Waterbury, Marlene Cone, of Milford, Linda Dipietro, and her husband, Dan, of Milford; his sisters-in-law, Cecil Cone, of Milford, Barbara Cone, of New Hampshire; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his best canine buddy, Harley, and beautiful bird, Lucy. Ricky is predeceased by his brothers, Frank (Sunny) Cone and Ronald Cone.

Born in Bridgeport to the late Frank and Catherine Baker Cone, Ricky was a resident of Fairfield for most of his life. A graduate of Andrew Warde High School in 1970, he was a retired driver for Drakes Bakery.

An avid NASCAR fan, Ricky will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor, his fabulous ribs, and a whole list of endearing qualities to numerous to include.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Additional services will be private.
