Obituary: Sarah Goodhue Waugh Moore, 57, Lifelong Southport Resident

Sarah Goodhue Waugh Moore, age 57 of Southport, beloved daughter of Sarah (Sally) Waugh and the late Samuel Waugh, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Born in Norwalk, she had been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Greens Farms Academy and attended Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland, the University of Wyoming at Laramie and Sacred Heart University.

Sarah was employed in the Insurance Division at G.E. Capital. She had a passion for assisting children with disabilities and volunteered her time with the Pegasus Program. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, the Fairfield Women’s Exchange and worked at the Pequot Library book sales.

Survivors in addition to her mother, Sally, include four siblings, Sandra Waugh Winans of Vienna, VA, Stephen Waugh of Briarcliff Manor, NY, Frederic Waugh of Fairfield and Amy Waugh Curry of Easton; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Southport Congregational Church. Interment will be private.
