Teresa Guzzo, 91, Fairfield Resident

Teresa Louise Aloisio Guzzo, age 91, of Fairfield, formerly of Valley Stream, NY, devoted wife of the late Felix V. Guzzo, passed away on June 11,2013. 

Teresa's memory will be embraced by her children, Clare Robert, and her husband, Patrick, of Orange, Teresa Campisi, and her husband, Emanuel, of Fairfield, Frank Guzzo, and his wife, Lizabeth Schaus-Guzzo, of Manalapan, NJ; her son-in-law, Joseph Azznara, of Lloyd Harbor, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Marc Robert, and his wife, Andrea, Christina Diane Campisi, Michael Campisi, Matthew Azznara, and his wife, Stacy, Joseph Azznara, Alexander Guzzo, Joseph Guzzo; two great grandchildren, Lila Robert and Cecilia Diane Azznara; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband, Felix, she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Azznara; grandson, Nathanael Robert; brother, Louis Aloisio. 

Raised in Brooklyn, NY, Teresa lived much of her life in Valley Stream, and moved to Fairfield in 2006.

A devout Catholic, she was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, in Elmont, NY, and in more recent years, received Communion from St. Pius X Church. 

Teresa was a talented cook, who graciously entertained her family and friends whenever possible.

While residing in the Jewish Home for the Elderly, she served as vice president of the resident's council, was involved in the home's spiritual group, and enjoyed tending to it's gardens. She made many friends during her stay.

The Guzzo family is very thankful to all at the Jewish Home for the Elderly who cared for Teresa. 

Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 13, from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her funeral service will take place on Friday 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, and 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Fairfield.

A private interment will be held on Monday in Calverton National Cemetery, in New York.
