Vincent E. Lewandowski, 69; Retired Engineer, Longtime Fairfield Resident

Vincent E. Lewandowski, 69, of Fairfield, devoted husband to the late Mary Louise Grant Lewandowski, passed away on June 23, 2014 in St. Vincent's Medical Center.

His memory will be cherished by his family and friends including four children, Tina Zvonkovic, and her husband, Alan, of Fairfield, Tara King, and her husband, Ronald, of Fairfield, Marc Lewandowski, and his wife, Sheila, of Milford, Lisa Parisi, and her husband, Brian, of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, Zachary Lee, Matthew, Jack, and Abigail King, Autumn, Amber, and Alyssa Lewandowski, Wil and Nicholas Parisi; one sister, Elizabeth Paskin, of Milford; one niece, Shannon Guida; one nephew, Todd Paskin; two great nieces. 

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Vincent had been a resident of Fairfield since 1964. A retired Stationary Engineer, he was an employee of St. Vincent's Medical Center for 38 years. He was exceptionally handy with just about any repair and always rose to the challenge when figuring out a mechanical problem. He enjoyed maintaining his home and garden, and was a talented cook and baker in the kitchen as well. A person of strong faith, Vincent was an active parishioner and usher for Holy Family Church. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the UConn Women's Basketball team. With enthusiasm, he regularly attended the numerous sporting events when his grandchildren were involved. He loved his family and will be missed by all whom he touched in life.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 25 from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM directly in Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
