William Batura, 77, Devoted Family Man

William Batura, age 77, beloved husband to the late Christine Wasicki Batura, of Fairfield, passed away on July 29, 2013. 

William's memory will be embraced by his children, Thomas Batura, and his wife, Susan, of Trumbull, Debra Cambareri, and her husband, Rocco, of Redding, David Batura, of Fairfield, Michele Hoben, and her husband, Brad, of Medway, MA; his cherished grandchildren, Josie, Bethani, Abigail, and Cole Cambareri, Macie and Kayla Hoben; his sisters, Celina Weglinski and Wisia Brajewski, both of Fairfield, Kazia Zawadzki, and her husband, Kazik, of New Britain, Helen Kotulick, of Monroe; his mother-in-law, Czewala Wasicki; his brother-in-law, Henry Wasicki, and his wife, Patricia, of Newtown; many nieces and nephews. 

Born in Kossow, Poland, he came to the United States at the age of 19, and settled in this community. A retired mason, William worked for Mutual Construction and later for Olympus Construction. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, spending time with his family was truly one of William's greatest joys in life. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening, and took proud in caring for his family's home.

He will be deeply missed by those who came to know and loved him. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4, from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will take place on Monday 10:15 AM in the funeral home and 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with his interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
