15th Annual Jannotta Family Feed Raises $18,000 for CT Food Bank

15th ANNUAL JANNOTTA FAMILY FEED RAISES $18,000 FOR CT FOOD BANK
The 15th Annual Jannotta Family Feed was held on November 25th at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. The event is held annually in Fairfield and the Jannotta Family are longtime Fairfield residents.
Food Bank CEO and President Nancy Carrington and US Senator Blumenthal attended as well as local and state public officials.
Anthony Jannotta, Founder of the Event said, "I am so thankful for the outpouring of generosity and support shown by our family and friends during this holiday tradition. No family should go hungry this holiday season."
Al Jannotta, Chairman of the Event said, "Once again we were able to give something back to the community and to those less fortunate. We are proud to partner with the Food Bank in their fight against hunger".
Nancy Carrington, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Food Bank, attends the event every year during Thanksgiving week to accept the donations that provides thousands of meals for individuals throughout Connecticut.
"It is heart-warming to have so many people and businesses extend themselves to help others. With this year's event, the Jannotta Family Feed has raised more than $180,000 for Connecticut Food Bank. These gifts are all the more critical due to recent cuts in SNAP (food stamp) benefits. 424,000 individuals have had their allotment reduced and will need extra help from the private sector."
The Connecticut Food Bank provides food to more than 500 programs that directly feed those in need. These include emergency food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens, daycare centers, low-income elder services, and residential programs throughout Connecticut.
