Food Drive, 5% Day at Whole Foods to Benefit Bridgeport Rescue Mission

Anything you buy at Fairfield Whole Foods will help feed the community’s cold and hungry todayFive percent of all sales will be donated to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission as part of the store’s Five Percent Day. Five Percent Days are part of Whole Foods Market’s commitment to support environmental and educational causes in their community.  Four times per year, each store identifies local organizations that align with Whole Foods Market’s commitment, and that make a real community impact.   Often, these days raise $2,500 or more for participating organizations.

The store is also running a canned food drive for the BRM today, which serves more than one million meals per year to the underprivileged in our area.

The Fairfield Rotary joined Bridgeport Rescue Mission Staff and Whole Foods Market Team Leaders to promote the food drive and donation effort at the Fairfield store this morning. Rotarians said they were glad to support Whole Foods Five Percent Day benefiting the BRM, an organization the Rotary has supported for almost a decade.
