OVER $27,000 RAISED AT CONNECTICUT HUMANE SOCIETY'S SECOND ANNUAL FALL GALA

NEWINGTON, Conn. (October 9, 2013) – The Connecticut Humane Society is pleased to announce that over $27,000 was raised at their 2013 Fall Gala. The Gala was held at the Westport Inn in Westport, Connecticut on Friday, October 4, 2013. The funds raised will support the programs and services which the Connecticut Humane Society provides at its Westport, Newington and Waterford shelters, and its reduced cost Fox Memorial Veterinary Clinic.

Over 100 guests enjoyed dinner, live music from The Zachenski Brothers, live and silent auction items which included a week-long stay in Puerto Rico, a diamond necklace and a First Ace Volkswagen limited edition electric guitar.

Noted guests for the evening, State Representative Gail Lavielle and Special Guest Andrea McArdle, attended the event to show their support for the Connecticut Humane Society and its first inductee into the Gertrude O. Lewis Humanitarian Society, famed Theatrical Animal Trainer William “Bill” Berloni.  Ms. McArdle entertained guests with her rendition of ‘Tomorrow’ from the Broadway Show Annie, for which she was the youngest performer ever nominated for the Tony® Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
