There is a proposed change in the RTC rules to eliminate the Open Caucus selection of Republican municipal candidates, the same democratic process by which Eileen Liu-McCormack and John Llewellyn got on the ballot in July and won decisive victories for BOE last November, as did John Donovan for RTM in contested District 1.

The Open Caucus option preserves the rights of all Republicans to choose candidates without a costly and divisive primary, should there be worthy challengers. As some defeats have taught us, winning elections requires the best possible people for the job.

The Proposal to Eliminate the Option of Open Caucus Candidate Selection was approved by only 44 RTC members as their terms were expiring last month.  Nearly one-third of them were absent for the decision.  This is Your Chance to vote and be heard.

Additionally, there is a contest for RTC seats in District 9 (representing Ludlowe voters). Two challengers are running against seven incumbents for just seven seats, Ellen Jacob and Dawn Llewellyn.  We are running to work towards a more user-friendly party, open to new ideas and fresh faces. We live in a town full of accomplished people. Let's invite them into the conversation and use the RTC website to keep timely information flowing to all members.
