$16K in Tires, Rims Stolen from Cars in Fairfield

The thefts were reported on streets close to Fairfield University.

Rims and tires were swiped from two vehicles near the Fairfield University neighborhood sometime overnight Sunday into Monday, according to police.

The owner of a 2012 BMW reported to police early Monday that he awoke to his car resting on top of two concrete cinderblocks, all four rims and tires missing.

The complainant had video surveillance of his driveway, where the car had been parked, and told police he had captured footage of a bald white male in a T-shirt taking the tires and rolling them toward a vehicle waiting in the street.
