Bike Stolen, Gym Locker Broken Into, Cars Entered Overnight

A look at some of the crimes reported over the weekend in Fairfield.

Fairfield police are investigating several thefts from cars and other larcenies reported this weekend:

A complainant came to police headquarters on Friday to report her bicycle was stolen from the Fairfield Center train station. It had been left on the north side of the tracks and was stolen between 6:40 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. Friday, according to the report.

The bicycle is a gold Trek women's mountain bike, police said. It was not clear in the report whether the bike had been secured to a bike rack.

An Edge Fitness Club patron reported that items were filched from his locker on Friday, police said. The locker had been secured with a combination lock, which was also reported missing.

A $400 watch and $800 in cash were stolen from the locker, according to police.

A Brookfield Avenue resident reported Friday that his vehicle had been entered sometime between the previous Wednesday and Thursday, police said. A GPS valued at $125 was stolen. The car had been unlocked, according to the report.

A Crestwood Road resident reported Sunday that his car was entered overnight. His wallet containing cash, his license, and credit card was stolen from the center console, police said. The car was unlocked.

The man's credit card had been used at a gas station in Bridgeport by the time the theft was reported to police.

A Dogwood Lane resident reported to police on Sunday that her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, had been entered overnight. A pair of $20 sunglasses was stolen, police said.
