A Brookview Avenue resident reported to police Monday that his home had been broken into sometime throughout the day, police said.
When the complainant arrived home from work, he found both the back and front doors were unlocked, which he thought was strange, according to the report. He found dresser drawers open and rifled through inside the home and the door to the attic open, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.
The resident reported $200 in cash missing as well as several thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, police said. The complainant's wife told police that she had locked both the front and back doors before leaving for work but may not have locked the deadbolt on the back door, according to the report.
This is under investigation.
