According to police, the two men, Niky Valcin, 38, of Stamford, and Ricardo Molina, 51, of Bridgeport, were standing at the taxi stand at 333 Carter Henry Drive when they began fighting. Molina claims that Valcin got too close to him so Molina pushed him and punches were thrown. Valcin said Molina threw the first punch and that he was just defending himself. Molina was hit in the face several times and had a golf-ball size knot on his forehead and a laceration near his eye. Valcin had swelling on his face and a bloody nose.

Man turns himself in on failure to license dog warrant

A Trumbull man surrendered himself at Fairfield Police headquarters late afternoon yesterday to answer a warrant issued for failing to show proper proof of a dog license and allowing his dog, a Husky, to roam free.

According to police, back on November 29, 2009, Douglas Huron, 24, went to the Fairfield Animal Shelter to retrieve his dog, which had gotten loose. The dog had been picked up several times before for the same occurrence. Huron failed to show proper documentation for the animal. As a result and because of past incidents, the Shelter contacted police Dec. 3, 2009 to register a complaint.

On the failure to show or plead charge, a new court date of August 9 and $100 bond has been issued.
