Cops: 5-Foot Snake Removed From Samp Mortar Drive Yard

The snake was identified as the common Northern water snake.

A 5-foot Northern water snake was removed from the front yard of a Samp Mortar Drive resident Monday, police said.

The large, nonvenomous snake -- native to North America -- was identified by Animal Control before being released back into the wild.

The snake was red, yellow, and black in color, according to Animal Control.
