Cops: Burglary Spree Hits Fairfield, Westport, Easton

Police are investigating an attempted burglary on Redding Road and a burglary on nearby Stella Lane; Easton and Westport police reported burglaries occurred around within an hour or two in their towns.

Police are investigating a reported burglary attempt and burglary in Fairfield that may be linked to burglaries reported in Easton and Westport on Monday.

Officers responded to an alarm at a home on Redding Road and found a broken screen door and windowpane on the north side of the house, according to the report. Police found another broken windowpane on exterior door, but determined that entry into the house may not have been gained. Nothing appeared disturbed inside.

Police responded to another alarm on Stella Lane shortly after the alarm at Reddng Road. Officers found an open screen door and broken windowpane in the rear of the home. Jewelry and a part of a jewelry box were found in the front yard, according to the report.

A walkthrough of the home revealed drawers had been opened and rifled through and miscellaneous jewelry was missing, including the evidence found in the yard.

Westport and Easton police responded to similar attempts within an hour or two timespan of the Fairfield alarms. Westport police reported a possible suspect -- a white male with dirty blonde hair operating a silver pickup truck.
