Two Bridgeport residents face several charges after they were arrested Monday for allegedly shoplifting from Old Navy on Black Rock Turnpike, police said.

Victor Diaz and Alexandra Mayams, both 22, reportedly took $244 worth of toddler's clothing from Old Navy and left without paying, police said. They then drove off, but police caught up with them. The store manager identified the two at a motor vehicle stop, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

Police searched the vehicle and recovered $2,339 worth of stolen clothing from American Eagle, H&M, and Abercrombie and Fitch, likely taken from the Westfield Connecticut Post Mall in Milford -- Milford police had an outstanding warrant for Diaz, Lussier said.

Both Diaz and Mayams were charged with sixth degree larceny and fourth-degree larceny, according to the report. They were both also charged with possession of a shoplifting device after police found in the car a bag commonly used to conceal items during larcenies, Lussier said.
