Cops: Fairfield Woman Struck, Killed by Car

The incident remains under investigation.

A 93-year-old Fairfield woman was killed Thursday afternoon when she was struck by a car on Fairland Drive, Fairfield police said.

Police say Ora Skowronski, a Fairland Drive resident, was crossing the street around 2 p.m. when she was struck by the vehicle. Responding officers administered CPR until Fairfield fire personnel and American Medical Response arrived and transported Skowronski to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

Charges have not been filed against the driver, a Fairfield man. The incident remains under investigation.
