Jason Penna, 40, a Norwalk firefighter and Weston resident, stole a ladder and other equipment from a Norwalk Fire Department rescue truck, say Norwalk police, who arrested him Thursday.

On Thursday, March 6, 2014, members of the Norwalk Police Department Detective Bureau served a felony arrest warrant for Norwalk Firefighter Jason Penna, age 40, of Weston for theft of equipment from the Norwalk Fire Department.
The warrant was based upon the results of an investigation conducted by the Detective Bureau after the Norwalk Fire Department reported to detectives in early February that several pieces of equipment were missing after their internal efforts to locate the equipment had failed.
The missing equipment included a Little Giant Ladder, a grip hoist, a strap for the grip hoist and a trailer hitch extension. The fire department reported that the missing equipment was assigned to a front line rescue truck, Rescue 1.
Mr. Penna, a 16-year veteran with the Norwalk Fire Department, turned himself in at the Norwalk Police Department and was charged with one count of Larceny 3rd Degree and one count of Larceny 6th degree.
During the booking process Penna was fingerprinted and photographed. Penna was issued on a written court set Promise to Appear. He is scheduled for arraignment at 10 a.m. on March 14 at the Norwalk Superior Court, located at 17 Belden Ave.
