A Bridgeport man was charged Monday with sixth-degree larceny after he allegedly stole an iPhone 4 from a fellow gym member, police said.
According to the initial Oct. 9 report, a member of The Edge Fitness Club in Fairfield told police her iPhone had been stolen while she was in a Spinning class that morning. She attempted to use the "Find My iPhone" program but the phone had been turned off.
Surveillance footage revealed a male, who had been working out at the gym, take the phone from where the complainant left it. Police and gym personnel recognized the man and identified him as Carlos Dacosta, 19.
DaCosta was arrested Monday on a warrant. He reportedly admitted to taking the phone, police said.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 7.
