Cops Nab Man Suspected of Selling Drugs in Fairfield

Police believe Gabriel Kearse, 23, may have allegedly sold cocaine to people within the town of Fairfield.

Fairfield police arrested a Bridgeport man who they believe is connected to drug sales in Fairfield.

Gabriel Kearse, 23, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia after a search and seizure warrant revealed he had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his home, police said. Kearse resides close to Bassick High School in Bridgeport.

The search also turned up evidence “consistent with the sale of narcotics,” according to the police report.

Police had received a tip that a black male suspect identified as Kearse was selling cocaine to people within the town of Fairfield, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said in a press release.

Kearse was arrested on Tuesday following a motor vehicle stop. He was held in custody in lieu of a $5,000 bond; his court date is March 21.
