State police alerted Fairfield officers shortly after that a car similar to the one that fled the scene was involved in an accident on I-95. Officers determined the license plate of the vehicle and went to the registered owner's Woods End Road residence.

When police arrived at the Woods End Road home, the suspect's roommate told officers that the registered owner wasn't there, Deputy Police Chief Chris Lyddy said. After several attempts to make contact with the suspect, she was found in the home. The vehicle that was reportedly involved in the accidents was found in the vicinity of the Woods End Road home.
