A Trumbull man was charged with driving under the influence after an officer reportedly observed him driving on the wrong side of Kings Highway East on Saturday, police said.

A witness pointed out the wrong-way driver to the patrol officer and yelled, “That guy is drunk -- he’s all over the road,” according to the report.

The officer pulled over the car that James Colbert, 51, was driving. According to the report, Colbert slurred his words and could not stand without swaying back and forth. He failed field sobriety test on the scene and a Breathalyzer test at police headquarters, police said.

Colbert was further charged with failure to drive right. He was released after posting a $100 bond and is schedule to appear in court on Oct. 23.
