A Hanford Drive resident returned home Saturday evening to find a second-floor bedroom rummaged through and $2,000 worth of jewelry missing.
Fairfield Police responded to the residence at about 10:30 p.m. on March 9, and observed that a first-floor bathroom window had been smashed. Drawers in the upstairs bedroom were opened and items thrown about, police said.
Two pairs of diamond earrings valued at a total of $2,000 were reported missing.
The theft could have taken place anytime between 1 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. that day, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
