Driver Asleep at Fairfield Intersection Hit With DUI

Jorge Cabrera, 37, of Bridgeport, was charged with DUI and operating without a license on Jan. 26 at approximately 7:21 p.m.

According to police, Cabrera was asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle in the middle of the intersection of Jennings Road and Deer Park Road in Fairfield. Police approached the vehicle, which was running but in park, and unsuccessfully attempted to wake up Cabrera by knocking on his window. Officers then opened Cabrera’s driver door and shook him to get him to awake.

When asked for his insurance Cabrera handed over the entire contents of his glove compartment and told officers he had no idea how he ended up in Fairfield. Cabrera failed a field sobriety test and was well over the legal alcohol limit, according to police.

Cabrera was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3.

So Jorge had no idea how he ended up in Fairfield? Hmmmmm. From the book of "What not to say to a policeman when pulled over while asleep at the wheel of a car running in the middle of an intersection".
