DUI/Safety Checkpoints to Be Set Up on Fairfield Beach Road Saturday

The Fairfield Police Department will be conducting DUI enforcement and safety checks of vehicles traveling to the Fairfield Beach Road area on Saturday, April 27.

Motorists will see signs posted and have an opportunity to take other avenues of travel to the area in lieu of going through checkpoints, according to the department.

Residents should be advised that traffic delays might occur between the hours of 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The mission of this checkpoint is to deter the operation of motor vehicles by drivers under the influence of alcohol and reduce the number of alcohol related crashes occurring in our communities, according to the department.

This specific operation will focus on driving under the influence and other safety violations.
