Fairfield Arsonist Gets 10 Years in Prison

Christopher Message, 35, was sentenced on Friday in connection to fires he set in Fairfield, Easton, and Monroe.

, 35, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to a report in the Connecticut Post.

The Fairfield resident and former Trumbull volunteer firefighter plead guilty to setting multiples fires in the towns of Fairfield, Easton, and Monroe between July and September 2011. .

According to the Post, Message read a statement to Judge Robert Devlin and apologized for his actions.

"This is an apology, not a plea to feel sorrow for me and how I lost my way. Ultimately it is me who chooses my doings. I chose wrong," Message read, according to the report in the Post.
