Fairfield Cops Arrest Two on DUI Charges

Two minor motor vehicle accidents lead to two alleged DUI arrests late Thursday into early Friday.

A Fairfield woman was arrested early Friday on charges of DUI, failure to drive right, and driving without insurance after striking another vehicle, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Deanna Borzillo, 18, apparently attempted to pass a vehicle turning left onto Alvin Street as she was driving eastbound on Old Stratfield Road, police said. She reportedly struck the rear of the car, and police determined she had been driving under the influence.

No injuries were reported, police said. Borzillo was released and issued a Nov. 22 court date.

A Bridgeport man was arrested on DUI charge late Thursday after his car drifted off Black Rock Turnpike and into a pole, police said.

Christopher Dennehy, 28, was also charged with failure to drive right and failure to renew registration, police said. He failed both field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer, according to the report.

Dennehy posted a bond and was released to a friend, police said. His court date is Nov. 21.

A man reported his backpack and $150 biology book were stolen from his car Thursday, police said. The man’s car was parked across the street from the Seagrape Café on Fairfield Beach Road, according to the report. It was unlocked.

The complainant reported he saw what he believes was a Hispanic man, who took the backpack from the car and drove off, police said.

This is under investigation.
