Fairfield Cops Investigate Post-Sandy Burglaries

Several burglaries and burglary attempts were reported overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Fairfield police are investigating a series of commercial burglaries reported in the aftermath of Storm Sandy.

Sometime overnight on Oct. 31 into Nov. 1, someone gained entry into Brooklawn Country Club. Entries were made into the guard shack and the pro shop, but nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.

Burglaries were also reported overnight at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. Entry was gained into the first tee building, the pro shop, and Vazzy's 19th Hole. According to the report, an Xbox game system, a cash register, and cash were taken overnight.

Sometime after 6 a.m. Thursday, the front door of Andros Diner on Tunxis Hill Road was smashed open. A cash register was reported stolen.

A burglary attempt was made at Patriot Bank of Black Rock Turnpike.
