Fairfield Cops Make Another DUI Arrest

The man had a .457 percent blood alcohol content at the time of the incident.

A Bridgeport man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday in connection to a car accident that occurred on March 2, 2011, police said.

Rodney Bullock, 39, was charged with driving under the influence and driving too close after blood tests revealed his blood alcohol level the night of the accident was a staggering .457 percent.

According to the original report, Bullock struck the rear of another vehicle near on Kings Highway East when the other vehicle was waiting to turn left on a green light.

When police arrived, Bullock was reportedly mumbling and officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier. When officers asked Bullock if he had anything to drink, Bullock slurred “Yes,” Lussier said.

The operator of the other vehicle was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center; Bullock to Bridgeport Hospital, Lussier said. During the ensuing search and seizure, police found Bullock had eight previous charges for driving under the influence and a number of other charges, Lussier said. Bullock’s license was reportedly set to be suspended the following April.

His condition of releaes and court date were unavailable as of the time of this report.

The owner of Bailey Tree Service on Brookside Drive reported Tuesday that three chainsaws were stolen from one of the company’s trucks, police said.

He last saw the tools on Monday, the owner told police. The chainsaws are valued at $1,800 total.

This is under investigation.

A Fairfield Beach Road resident reported Tuesday that his black iPad had been stolen sometime in the past three weeks, police said.

The resident said he keeps getting confirmation emails stating is Netflix account is being used -- and it’s not being used by him, he told police.

The iPad is worth approximately $1,000.

This is under investigation.
