Fairfield police arrested three suspects Wednesday in connection to a burglary-in-process, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

A Redding Road resident was home when she witnessed a white male attempt to break into her house through a rear window, according to the police report. She called 911 to report as the suspect fled to a silver vehicle that was parked approximately 100 yards down the road, according to Lussier.

Patrol officers set up a perimeter on surrounding streets, located the silver car (which police discovered was a stolen vehicle from Stratford), and conducted a traffic stop. The male who had attempted to break into the Redding Road home was positively identified; he and the other two men in the car were taken into custody, Lussier said.

The three men arrested were Joseph Johnson, 25, of Oldfield Road in Fairfield, who was charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary in the second degree, possession of burglary tools, third-degree larceny, and possession of drug paraphernalia; Shawn Kelly, 25, of Norwalk, who was charged with third-degree larceny; and Anthony Kelly, 26, of Norwalk, who was also charged with third-degree larceny, according to the police report.
