Police later obtained a search warrant for Maduri's medical records, which showed his blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit for driving. A warrant for his arrest was granted by a judge on charges of driving while under the influence and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

Maduri, of Overlook Avenue in Fairfield, turned himself in to police on May 1 and was released on a written promise to appear May 11 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
