A Fairfield man was charged with interfering with police officers on Wednesday after he allegedly uncooperative during an investigation, police said.

Police came upon Orrico walking down Old Field Road, close to South Pine Creek Road. Orrico told police he was walking because he wanted to exercise, according to the report. A witness pointed police in the direction of the girlfriend’s car.

Police questioned Orrico about the argument with his girlfriend, which he admitted to, but told police he didn’t do anything wrong, according to the report. Orrico began walking away and police warned him that if he walked away, he would be arrested, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

He kept walking away and police took him into custody and charged Orrico with interfering with police, Lussier said. Orrico initially gave police a false name and date of birth but eventually gave his full name.

Orrico, a South Pine Creek Road resident, was released on a promise to appear in court on April 2.
