Fairfield Man Wanted for Drug Charges in NJ

A Fairfield resident wanted for narcotics violations in New Jersey was charged as a fugitive from justice by Fairfield police on Saturday.

William Martel, 21, of Hill Top Drive was held in lieu of $250,000 bond and is due in court in Bridgeport on June 25. He may be extradited to New Jersey for the warrant issued by Hunterdon County law enforcement officials.

A Bridgeport woman was charged with fifth-degree larceny Friday after she allegedly shoplifted $680 worth of merchandise from .

Elizabeth Torres, 45, was detained in the parking lot by responding officers with various merchandise that she reportedly didn’t pay for, according to the police report.

Torres was released on a promise to appear in court on June 25.

A Fairfield man was charged with breach of peace and interfering with police officers late Friday after he reportedly refused to leave Fest.

Cody McMahon, 20, of Melville Drive allegedly refused to leave when police began dispersing crowds at the end of the event. A brief foot pursuit followed his refusal, which drew a crowd of roughly 200 onlookers, police said.

McMahon was released from custody after he posted a $500 bond. His court date is June 22.

A Fairfield man was charged with criminal trespass on Monday for an incident that occurred in September 2011.

Gregory Fields, 37, of Brooklawn Avenue was charged after he failed to make restitution for allegedly dumping sugar or salt all over a resident’s car in September, causing $2,000 in damage, police said.

Police arrested Fields in connection to the vandalism in May and he was offered the opportunity to make restitution. A judge ordered Monday that Fields be charged for criminal trespass because he yet to compensate the victim, according to the police report.

Fields was released on a promise to appear in court on June 26.
