Fairfield's K-9 Ruger Assists in Finding Suicidal Male

State police had been notified that about the male, a Fairfield resident, and believed he was in the area of General Electric headquarters.

Fairfield's K-9 Officer Ruger assisted State Police in finding a suicidal resident on Sunday.

State Police had been alerted about the male, who was believed to be in the area of GE Headquarters on Easton Turnpike, according to police.

Ruger and his handler, Officer Kevin Wells, entered the wooded area near General Electric Headquarters (close to the Merritt Parkway southbound rest stop) and, without a scent or a starting point, began tracking to find the male, according to the report.

After tracking for nearly an hour, Ruger found the male hiding in a drainage ditch on GE's property, according to police. The subject was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center for evaluation.
