Fairfield U Student Charged with Pot Possession

The student reportedly had marijuana and various articles of drug paraphernalia in his dorm room, police said.

A student was charged with possession of various articles of drug paraphernalia on Tuesday, police said.

Ryan Sabedra, 18, of New Jersey reportedly had in his dorm room several scales, sandwich baggies containing pot and glass jars, also containing pot, and a pill bottle, according to the police report.

Fairfield University security discovered the marijuana in Sabedra’s room and reported it to the police department. Sabedra was detained and charged with possession of marijuana within intent to sell, possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana, failure to keep narcotics in original container, and possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school for his dorm’s proximity to Fairfield Prep, police said.

Sabedra was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to face his charges in court on May 1.
