Fairfield Woman Charged With DUI in Darien

Just after midnight on Friday, Darien Police charged the woman with driving while under the influence of alcohol on Hoyt Street.

A police officer driving north on Hoyt Street saw a car cross the road's center line twice, so the officer stopped the vehicle, resulting in the arrest of a Fairfield woman on charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Just after midnight on Friday, the officer saw the car, a 2011 Nissan Sentra, and observed that it crossed over the center line.

On stopping the car on Hoyt Street near Camp Avenue, the officer spoke with the driver, Kristen Becker of Rock Ridge Road in Fairfield. The officer smelled alcohol.

Becker was given a field sobriety test and failed it. She was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving without a driver's license and failure to drive right.

She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear May 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
