Is this why they call them Stingrays? On the evening of July 28, police responding to a call for assistance at Mead Park in New Canaan arrived to find a . The car’s owner, Mark Weiss, of New Canaan, told police he was having trouble with the car battery and that he may have accidentally left the car in neutral while trying to restart it. He said it's possible he did not set the parking brake when he got out of the car. Weiss told Patch he ran after and tried to stop the car as it rolled into the pond. The  provided divers to assist with the recovery, and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was called in case the car leaked fluids in the water. No estimate of damage was available.

A Westport teen faces drug and other charges after apparently taking his father's motorboat out for a on the Saugatuck River. The boat was unoccupied when police arrived at the scene, making circles in the water until it ran out of gas.
