Want to keep a Fairfield senior citizen cool this summer?

Drop off an electric fan at four People's United Bank branches in town or at the Fairfield Police Department from Saturday through Friday.

The fans should be in good working condition and can be donated at the following People's United Bank branches: 411 Post Road in Fairfield's Southport neighborhood, 1940 Black Rock Turnpike, 1055 Post Road and 1237 Stratfield Road.

Senior citizens can then pick up a fan for free at the Police Department, 100 Reef Road, on July 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The program is an effort by the Police Department, Fairfield Senior Center and People's United Bank to help seniors beat the heat this summer.
