Las Vegas Woman Goes on Alleged 13-Minute Crime Spree on Black Rock Turnpike
Clerk at Lenox Jewelers foiled alleged thief when she tried using stolen credit cards.
A Las Vegas woman, who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants in California and Oregon, allegedly went on a rapid-fire crime spree on Black Rock Turnpike Thursday, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
Fairfield police told the Citizen that Sadie Lynne Ouellette, 36, is accused of stealing a customer's wallet at Trader Joe's, then using stolen credit cards to illegally withdraw $4,000 from a nearby bank, then trying to fraudulently buy two Rolex watches (valued at $26,900) from Lenox Jewelers - all within a matter of 13 minutes.
Ouellette was foiled when a clerk at Lenox Jewelers knew the wallet-theft victim at Trader Joe's and was aware the credit cards Ouellette attempted to use did not belong to her, police told the Citizen.
Ouellette was charged with fourth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, criminal attempt at first-degree larceny, interfering with an officer and two counts of criminal impersonation. She was held in lieu of $100,000 bond and arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday.
