A Stratford man was charged with third-degree larceny Monday following an investigation into a series of thefts from Home Depot.

Detectives had been investigating what they believe is a shoplifting ring plaguing various Home Depots around the state. During interviews with previously arrested suspects, Nathan Legensky, 37, of Willow Avenue was identified as an additional suspect, police said.

Investigators executed a search warrant for a storage unit that Legensky had rented and reportedly seized 20 items -- mostly power tools -- that had been reported stolen from Home Depot stores, including the Fairfield location.

Legensky was taken into custody Monday and held in lieu of a $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 12.
