Man Charged with Stealing $3,400 in Goods from Employer

The man -- a former employee of Jos. A. Bank -- was arrested on Monday.

A Bridgeport man was arrested Monday for allegedly stealing $3,400 worth of clothing and shoes from his place of work -- Jos. A. Bank on the Post Road, police said.

Rafael Crespo, 20, of Milne Street allegedly stole three pairs of shoes and three suits from Jos. A. Bank while he was an employee there, according to the report. The theft was reported to police on Feb. 20, 2013.

Crespo reportedly admitted to taking the merchandise when confronted, police said. He was terminated and the manager requested Crespo's arrest.

Crespo was charged with third-degree larceny and was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 19.
