An Easton man was arrested on Saturday after he reportedly (and possibly unknowingly) stole a car and struck another vehicle with it, police said.
Raymond Longo, 38, drove away from Bill’s Crossroads Café in a 2004 Dodge pickup truck that was not his, and reportedly hit a parked Nissan on Tunxis Hill Road, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier.
When the Nissan’s owners came out of their house to confront Longo (they witnessed the hit from their window), Longo allegedly tried to flee and broke the ignition key in half, Lussier said. The Tunxis Hill residents kept him at the scene until police arrived.
Longo failed three field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under in the influence, criminal mischief in the third degree, and operating a motor vehicle without permission, according to the police report.
When police questioned Longo about the pickup he was driving, he reportedly told police he wasn’t driving a pickup, but his own minivan, which was still in the parking lot of Bill’s Crossroads.
Longo was released on a $500 bond; his court date is Jan. 17. The pickup was returned to its owner.

A Pierce Street resident was arrested early on Saturday after he reportedly bruised his girlfriend’s arm by grabbing it, police said.
According to the police report, Selim Cinar, 29, and his girlfriend were arguing over drinking habits. Cinar told police he was acting in self-defense because is girlfriend was reportedly swinging at him.
Police charged Cinar with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, according to the report.
Cinar was released on a promise to appear in court today.

A Bridgeport man was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly shoplifted a pair of sneakers from Bob’s, police said.
According to Lussier, Joel Quinones, 33, took a new pair of sneakers ($55), put them on his feet, replaced the empty box, placed his old shoes on the rack, and walked out of the store without paying.
Quinones was charged with sixth-degree larceny, according to the report. He was released on a $100 cash bond; his court date is Jan. 17.

A Sasco Hill Road resident was arrested early on Saturday after he allegedly hosted an “unreasonably loud” party, Lussier said.
A neighbor reported a noise complaint to police late Friday and then a second noise complaint just after midnight on Saturday, according to the report.
When police came to the house for the second complaint, they reported hearing loud music from the back of the house as they approached, Lussier said.
The homeowner, Todd Esse, 44, was advised of the complaint. According to the report, he told police that the party guests were annoyed at the first noise complaint and they decided to “push the button” and turn the music louder, Lussier said.
Esse was charged with disorderly conduct, according to the report. His court date is Jan. 17.

A New York man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly struck another man in the face at Bill’s Crossroads Café, police said.
Blake Moskowitz, 23, was charged breach of peace and third-degree assault for the incident, which occurred after a game of pool, Lussier said.
According to witnesses, Moskowitz and the victim had been playing pool and then went outside. A witness ran in and said that someone had been knocked out -- the victim had fallen to the ground when he was allegedly hit and was unconscious, police said.
The victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Police were able to track down Moskowitz -- he was released on a written promise to appear in court on Jan. 18.
