Manager to Suspected Shoplifter: 'I'll Take My Red Bull Back'

Fairfield Police say the Bridgeport man tried to steal 23 cans of Red Bull from Stop & Shop.

A 36-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly tried to steal 23 cans of Red Bull from the Stop & Shop on Villa Avenue.

Police said the man was caught on video concealing the drinks in a bag and attempting to walk out of the store, at about 3:30 p.m. on April 20.

Police said the manager confronted the suspect, identified as Jose E. Espinosa, by saying: "I'll take my Red Bull back."

Espinosa reportedly dropped the Red Bulls, valued at $53.15, and ran. He was apprehended by police and charged with sixth-degree larceny.

Espinosa was released on a promise to appear in court on May 5.
