When the mother was told that her four-year-old son had entered into the tanning establishment, she allegedly told employees that he was 'supposed to stay in the car,' police said.

A 34-year-old mother was charged with risk of injury to a child after she allegedly left her four-year-old son in the car while temperatures were in the 20’s, police said.

This is the second time in two weeks that Westport police have charged a mother for leaving a young child unattended while temperatures were below freezing.

Kristen Becker, of 136 Arbor Drive, Southport, reportedly went for a mid-winter tan at Palm Beach Tan, located at 1854 Post Road East, but about five minutes into her session her son walked into the store alone while not wearing a jacket, according to the arrest report.

“When Becker was told by employees that the child was in the establishment, Becker told the child that he was supposed to stay in the car,” the arrest report states.

Becker was taken into custody at her home on Saturday at about 4 p.m. and was later released after posting a $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 11.

That's a woman? No amount of tanning is going to help her/it .She may benefit more from some serious plastic surgery. Idiot.

If you google her name, she has a laundry list of prior offences. Looks like she lived in Fairfield and now is in Southport. She should not have custody of that child. Shame on the system! From her face, you can tell there is a battle of something (ie. drugs/alcohol). That is not the typical face of a 33 year old woman.
