Old Academy Road Home Burgled Tuesday

And other reports of thefts and burglaries.

An Old Academy Road resident reported to police Tuesday that her home was entered while she was gone, police said.

The resident told police she was only out for an hour before she returned to find the house ransacked. Drawers in the kitchen and bedroom were left open and jewelry, cash, and credit cards were stolen, according to the report.

Police believe the suspect gained entry through a locked window, which had been broken. This is under investigation.

A Fairmount Terrace resident reported to police Tuesday that her vehicle had been entered overnight.

Stolen were a Garmin GPS ($400), an EZ Pass, an old license plate, and chargers for electronics. The resident said the car had been locked, but police did not observe damage to the vehicle.

This is under investigation.

A Jackman Avenue resident reported to police Tuesday that his unlocked vehicle was entered overnight.

The complainant discovered the front passenger door ajar and reported that iPod head phones, an iPod charger, and a backpack with Tae Kwon Do equipment had been stolen.

Police recovered all but a pair of Tae Kwon Do gloves ($140) near the entrance of a driveway on nearby Euclid Avenue.

An Edge Fitness Club member reported to police Tuesday evening that her car had been broken into while parked at the gym, located on Kings Highway Cut Off.

According to the report, one of the passenger side windows was smashed. The complainant's Coach purse ($400) with credit cards and an Android cell phone ($300) were stolen. A GPS was left behind.

The damage to the window was estimated at $300. This is under investigation.
